Write me a 50 page eBook for $100!
I think that some people have a severely unrealistic idea of what quality content costs. I was filtering through some craigslist postings looking for writing jobs to post in the writing forums and I stumbled upon an ad, in the USA no less, asking for a writer to spit out 50 page eBook with single spacing for $100. I would shovel manure for free before I’d write some stranger a 50 page eBook for less than $500, and in normal circumstances I wouldn’t even touch that, my normal rate is $30 per page. I would have to be hurting bad to accept an eBook writing job for $10 per page.
Why do writers offer to run their own work through copyscape?
Something I’ve never been able to figure out, maybe someone else out there knows:
Why would a writer run their own article through copyscape to be sure that it’s original?
This makes absolutely no sense. . . unless, of course, they can’t write.
Tip for finding freelance writing jobs using Google and Craigslist
As a freelance writer, your income is derived from your ability to find paying work. You can absolutely use the resources available on our job postings page, but that really doesn’t cover a lot of ground.
Something I’ve found that works out well when searching for writing gigs is to use Google & Craigslist, and this method seems to show some relevant results. While you will have to filter out some of the older postings as well as the postings that are location specific; it is more than possible that you find your ‘writing goldmine’ by using this method.
Trying to be helpful. . . but they won’t have it
I very recently posted a listing in my local craigslist giving a link to a location where there are free job postings for writers. This was a completely free resource – and it would not only be beneficial to the freelance writer looking for solid writing work, it would also benefit the stay at home mom or dad, grandma or grandpa and give them a place to make a few extra bucks for sharing their writing talent.
Article flow over keyword density: how do you write?
It’s not just about content; it’s about quality content. If you’re looking to publish a written work online, do yourself a favor: make it for the end user.
There’s been so much debate about whether you should write to appease search engines or the readers. Think about this for a minute. What good will keyword rich content do you if your readers can’t follow your writing? It’s pointless to try and appeal to search engines with your writing only to turn off the very people you’re trying to attract to your website or content in the first place. A good article or writing is not determined by how many times you can repeat a keyword phrase within its parameters and still make it look non-spammy; a good article is a logically flowing work that benefits the one who reads it.
