Massive Website Updates
I’m going to be doing a massive update to this website… while I would probably like a major overhaul on the design… I’m talking about something different.
I’ve recently reconnected the web-based tools section and the free scripts section of this website, and I’ve also removed Recaptcha from this blog in favor of a more user-friendly solution that came with the default installation of Wordpress, Askimet. I’ve never used Askimet, but I’m hoping I don’t have to spend much time deleting spam comments… Recaptcha cut down blog-spam to only 2-3 per day.
Cutting Out Blog Spam
This website is amongst the heaviest hit in regards to comment spam, at least when considering my personal blogs. The other day I implemented recaptcha on this website to hopefully get to the point where I could allow instant approval of comments here. . . but there’s still an issue with comment spam.
To all who have tried and will continue to try: I will not link to your adsense spam pages
Blog comments: I get them several times a week. How many have I actually let though to post on my site? Only one comment. The reasoning behind it: I will not link to your adsense spam websites.
You either scrape website content or you copy intro paragraphs to blogs and paste this text on your website. You’ve gotten smarter – you try to write comments that at least indicate you’ve glanced over my posting, but in the end you post your name as “Lose weight fast” and “Web Hosting Reviews” and link to a choppy, real content lacking page with a minimum of 4 different ad sets. . . do you think I want to endorse this type of website?
