Instant Niche Marketing Research

Something that some people overlook is just how easy niche research can be. Even if you don’t really know how to perform niche research, this is an uber-simple way to find targeted niches… niches that you have already expressed interest in, none-the-less.

What you’ll need for this method:

The Firefox Web Browser
The SEO for Firefox plugin

The premise of this method is simple. When you hit Google to look up something, hit the SEO for firefox button to see if it’s a viable niche.

Once you’ve installed the SEO for Firefox plugin and restart Firefox, you’ll see the SEO button in the lower-right side of your browser. In order to activate it, just click on the button and search for your phrase in Google:

Immediately at your disposal you’ll have:

  1. SEO Book’s Keyword Tool
  2. Google Adwords External Keyword Tool
  3. Google’s Adwords Traffic Estimator
  4. Google Trends

Our listed example is the keyphrase “Niche Marketing Ideas”, and it has around 750,000 websites returning for that phrase (without the quotes). Now, this isn’t exactly a great niche, at least according to Google’s tools because the traffic estimator shows us this:

Literally zero clicks. However, the Adwords Sandbox tool shows us that there is some search volume for this phrase, even though it’s not registering enough search volume to show up on the Traffic Estimator:

While this example isn’t the best in terms of a good niche to target, I’m not really looking to give away a free niche idea in this post… my point is that finding a niche market can be as easy as clicking a button.

So - if you’re an internet marketer or website owner on the constant looking for new niche markets, installing the SEO for Firefox plugin might just be one of the best decisions that you make this week. Chances are - if you’re looking for a solution to a problem, there are other people looking for the same answer you are as well. And, if it turns out that there’s a decent search volume with only a few websites providing the solution that you’re looking for… you may very well have found your next profitable niche market.
