Freelance Writing Experiment

This is just a quick update as to the status of my little freelance writing experiment. Actually though, there’s not much of an update at this moment.

I had some things come up this week thus I haven’t submitted any more articles, though I have ran into a snag. It seems that the editors (content managers) at Associated Content are having an issue with verifying the originality of my submitted work due to the fact that I have it listed on Constant Content as well. Here is the forum thread outlining my plight: Associated Content Thread (you may have to be logged in to see it, I’m not sure).

In any case, it’s been a rather frustrating process. If I were not in the middle of conducting this experiment I would say forget about it. . . the $3-$5 that I would probably get in up-front payments isn’t worth the time I’m spending in resubmitting this article.

However, I have accrued 6 cents as a page view bonus for the article that was approved last week. (Where to watch tv online for free, legally).

Experiment Status:

Submitted Content
Associated Content: 2 (1 approved, 1 declined, though should be fixed)
Constant Content: 1 (1 approved)

Payments Received
Associated Content: $8.24 ($0.06 Performance Bonus)
*Constant Content: $0

Time Spent on Project
This will reflect writing time only, but it’ll help to determine an hourly rate by the end of the experiment.
Total Time: 1:15 (hours:minutes)
Average Hourly Rate: $6.64/hour

*Amount from Constant Content will reflect sales made as they pay 1x monthly
