Trying to be helpful. . . but they won’t have it

I very recently posted a listing in my local craigslist giving a link to a location where there are free job postings for writers. This was a completely free resource – and it would not only be beneficial to the freelance writer looking for solid writing work, it would also benefit the stay at home mom or dad, grandma or grandpa and give them a place to make a few extra bucks for sharing their writing talent.

Well. . . Lansing wouldn’t have any of it, apparently. They flagged me down. This is kind of ironic because the city needs money, and the people living there need money. It’s not like Lansing is some hole, there are nice houses & people that do well. I’ve been robbed twice there and had someone try and carjack me on a Sunday afternoon: so I don’t live there anymore and I don’t like the city, personally, but there are a lot of good people who could benefit from the information I was sharing; only either some fool or 12 year old had to spoil it for some needy and deserving writer. Or maybe a grandma or grandpa looking for some extra cash. The fool spoiled it for everyone.

The only reason I’m upset about this is because there’s ads that are promoting the infamous ‘home typing’ jobs that:

1) Charge you money to join a website

2) Don’t disclose the fact that you’ve got to spend money, a lot of it, to make money

3)That in order to make money using the ‘home typist’ method, you have to be good at keyword research

That remain for days and even weeks. My ad was listed for a paltry 12 hours before getting the boot. This was a legit posting, giving the people of Lansing a real resource to find writing jobs. I don’t get it; it makes no sense to me, at all. Maybe I should start spamming craigslist with a home typist offer & then give them the free information after they reply. . . at least my ad would stay live longer.

I think that the Lansing Craigslist is a great resource; unfortunately sometimes it seems that people prefer to cherish a scam rather than embrace the truth.
