Search engine submission and web site optimization services

Search engine submissions and web site optimization services can help you to obtain better placement for your web site in search engines. That being said: personally I think that relying on direct submission of you web site to search engines, and waiting for the results, can be a long, slow process. Even an unnecessary process, at that.

There was a time that I submitted my web site to search engines directly: but this is not my preferred method to getting my sites listed in the major searches. Anymore I have learned how to get my new web sites crawled, and indexed, quickly: sometimes within 24-48 hours. It’s not magic and it’s not really a secret as many marketers use this exact same method to get their web sites listed in the major search engines.

Before I go into all that: I do not want to discount the idea of search engine submissions. With all of the various smaller search engines out there: You are bound to get better, and more rounded exposure to both major and minor search engines with some sort of search engine submission process. In the past I have used Web CEO for both search engine submission and for help with making my web sites optimized for these search engines. While I have, for the most part, moved away from relying on this type of software for my web site optimization: I still use Web CEO to this day for various tasks.

So, if I don’t utilize search engine submissions, how do I go about getting my web site crawled and indexed? One method I use is with directory submissions and article submissions. See: the whole point of submitting your web site to search engines is so that these search engines will crawl and index your web site. With directory submissions you often do not have to wait several weeks or months to have your web site crawled by search engines: a high ranking directory is search engine spider food, meaning that the major crawlers have a tendency to consume these high quality/high ranking web sites with a ferocious frequency. This simply means that if your web site is listed on one of these high ranking directories: it is likely that your web site will be at least crawled soon; possibly indexed soon as well.

If you are just starting out trying to optimize or submit your web site, and you didn’t understand most of the previous paragraph: I would suggest that you start out with something like Web CEO and work on things from there. However, if you’re familiar with the viral backlink building properties of article submissions: I have an article writing/submission service that might work out nicely for you.

I’ll post more later on how to choose the best keywords for your web site: it’s a suggested read as it could save you some major headaches when trying to get natural search engine traffic to your web site.
